Certainly not the garden of Eden...

My poor pitiful garden! We just don't have a good spot for a garden where we live, so I made my best attempt at improvising! We've done this before - a garden in pots. It usually works really well! My favorite - tomato plants!!

And so, I got all the necessary supplies. Papa and the children lovingly planted six tomato plants for me. And I went about watering them regularly....

Nothing really happened. In fact, they look worse! They should be at least twice their original size by now, with at least flowers on them, if not some small green tomatoes! What happened? Here they are:

Is there any hope for fresh tomatoes at my house this year?

Jesus said: "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful." --John 15:1,2

Oh God, be the gardener in my life. I want to be fruitful for You! Amen.

Maybe some miracle - gro? Now you're looking like my usual gardening attempts!

I have a question though -- what do you put on tomato plants to keep the bugs off? Last year we got bugs all over them and most of my tomatoes were unpalatable.

We're gardening again this spring and hope to have some success.

So sorry about your little plants. Maybe you could have the kids sing to them!

Ooooo! Maybe that is the problem! Maybe Papa sang to them!???

I've never had bug problems on tomatoes! I don't know! Another friend asked me just yesterday the same question! Does anyone know?

You're watering them too much, is my husband's guess. Let them dry out a little between waterings. And make sure your pots have drainage holes...
